The night sky is dark and faded
the stars seem duller than before
every time I reach up to grasp them
something else pulls my hands down
I look to see what it is
but all I see is a face
At first I think it's the face of an angel
but then I see through the disguse
as it takes off the mask
and all I see
is myself.
